Traveling is fun, but it can be tiring, especially when you have to be on the go for hours. Whether you’re flying to a new city or going on that fun road trip, comfort is EVERYTHING! Being comfortable will make your trip more fun and enjoyable. In this post, I’ll go over the best comfort travel essentials for women and what you should bring with you to stay relaxed and feeling good while traveling.
1. Neck Pillows
One of my favorite ways to get some rest during flights or long car rides is using a neck pillow. Neck pillows give support to your neck and help you avoid soreness. This neck pillow (above) from Amazon, is made from memory foam, these are soft yet firm and will support your neck while you’re trying to get some sleep. Some neck pillows even come with washable covers, which is always nice!
2. Compression Socks
Long flights and car rides can make your feet and legs swell, this can make you feel really uncomfortable. Compression socks help improve the blood flow in your feet and legs and reduce swelling. These socks from amazon will lightly squeeze your legs and feet to keep you from feeling sore and tired.
3. Comfortable Shoes

If you’re planning on doing looots of walking, make sure you pack comfy shoes! Look for shoes that have soft soles, a good arch support, and can be easily and comfortably be worn for a long period of time. Sneakers or slip on shoes usually work great because they’re lightweight but they also support your feet. I also recommend avoiding shoes that rub when you walk because these can cause blisters and discomfort, no one wants that!
4. Moisturize Your Skin!
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hyaluronic Acid Facial Moisturizer with Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen
Air on planes or in different weather can affect your skin and make it dry! Bring a small-sized (or travel size) moisturizer to keep your skin soft and hydrated. Lightweight moisturizer with SPF is perfect because it will keep your skin protected from sunburn while also hydrating it. Also, I highly recommend bringing a lip balm to keep your lips soft and to avoid chapped lips from long flights. These are travel essentials for women – amiright ladies?
5. Sleep Mask and Earplugs
It’s hard to sleep when you’re in a loud place or when it’s too bright, like when you’re in a flight or in a noisy hotel room. A sleep mask blocks out the light and makes it a lot easier for you to fall asleep. I like to wear mine with earplugs to block out any noise, like the ones above. They’re great for removing snoring, loud talking, and really any noise. This will not only help you sleep better but you’ll also wake up feeling so refreshed!
6. Portable Battery
There’s nothing worse than running out of battery on your phone or laptop while you’re traveling! Portable batteries are a must. They’re an easy way to keep your devices charged up during traveling. Find a compact and light one so you can easily stuff it in your bag. I also recommend getting a portable charger with built in cables, these are super handy without having to carry extra charger cables. I think it’s super important to have a portable battery handy especially when you’re traveling alone as woman, you need to keep your phone charged for safety at all times.
7. Travel Blanket
Bring a travel blanket. for extra warmth and coziness. This is a lifesaver because we all know it gets so cold on a flight. Travel blankets are great way to keep you warm during those cold airplane rides or long train rides. Most travel blankets are compact and can easily fold up into a small pouch for easy packing. Because they’re soft and light, they will definitely keep you comfortable and warm no matter where you are.
8. Stretchy and Comfy Clothes
When traveling, comfort is a priority, especially when it comes to clothing! I usually wear stretchy, soft, and breathable clothes. I like leggings, yoga pants, or loose fitting jeans, they’re great and you can move freely without feeling restricted. A cozy cardigan or scarf are great for keeping you warm during a flight or at night. I find that layering clothing works well because you can easily add or remove clothing depending on the temperature.
9. Reusable Water Bottle
Water Purifier Bottle – Filter for Travel
Hydrating is a must!! But I know that it’s not always easy when traveling. I like to bring a refillable water bottle to help me stay hydrated without needing to constantly buy water bottles (this will also help you save some money). Look for a lightweight bottle that’s easy to carry in your bag. Some water bottles also have built-in filters, you can refill them anywhere, even in countries that have questionable tap water.
10. Relaxing Essentials
We all know traveling can be stressful so it’s important to bring things that will help you relax. Things like essential oils, like lavender and peppermint can help calm your mind in stressful situations. You can buy them in little rollerball bottles for easy use. Other things to help you relax can include a small journal where you can jot down your thoughts or something as simple as a book to read. These little comforts, can make you feel a lot more relaxed and make your travel comfortable.
11. Anti-Theft Bag
You always want to make sure you’e safe and secure when traveling. Anti-theft bags are a must to help protect your belongings from pickpockets or thieves. These types of bags are made with special zippers that keep your belongings safe and some even have hidden compartments. Some anti-theft bags are made with RFID-blocking features that help protect your credit cards and personal info from being digitally stolen (this is a lot more common than you think!). Choose a bag that’s comfortable to wear and spacious enough to hold your phone, wallet, and passport for easy use.
12. Healthy Snacks
When you’re traveling it can be hard to eat healthy food because you’re constantly on the go and eating healthy isn’t always an option. That’s why bringing your own snacks is a great idea. Choose snacks that are easy to carry around and won’t make a mess. Some I like to pack are granola bars, nuts, dried fruits, and protein bars (Amrita protein bars are my favorite). These snacks will keep your energy levels high during long flights or car drives and will help you avoid unhealthy foods which can leave you feeling even more tired.
It’s super important to prioritize your comfort, make sure to pack your all your travel essentials this make all the difference. Neck pillows, compression socks, cozy blankets, and skincare products will help you relax and make you feel refreshed during your trip.
Always make sure to pack light, this will make your trip as comfortable and enjoyable as possible!
