As the leaves change color and the air gets crisper, we know spooky season is just around the corner! Halloween isn’t just all about costumes and candy, it’s also a great way to show off your creativity with makeup, outfits, and yes…nails! I’ll be going over 15 Fab Halloween nail designs that are sure to make your nails look scary (and cool). Whether you’re invited to a costume party or you just want to get in a halloween mood, here are some easy halloween nail designs to try
1. Classic Orange and Black Nails
You just can’t go wrong with classic Halloween colors! Paint your nails bright orange, and add black accents in the form of stripes, polka dots, or even jack-o’-lanterns little faces. I would go in with a matte top coat for the orange and keep the black glossy.
How To Do It
- Base coat
- Two coats of orange polish
- With a thin brush or dotting tool, paint black designs (stripes, polka dots…etc)
- Seal it with a top coat. (matte or glossy)
2. Spider Webs Nails
This is one of my favorites, Spider Web nail art! This design is a perfect mix of spooky and chic.
How You Can Do It:
- Paint your nails black for the base.
- You can paint a web in white or metallic silver color with a fine nail art brush.
- Add a small dot of black nail polish for the spider, super simple but effective!
3. Ghost Nails (Boo!)
These nails will definitely raise some spirits and are one of my favorite easy halloween nail designs to recreate. To create a ghost French tip, blend a white tip into a sheer or light color base.
How You Can Do It:
- Apply a sheer nude or light pink base.
- Paint on ghostly tips with white polish and a small brush.
- Dot black polish to create eyes and a mouth for each ghost
4. Pumpkin Patch Nails
I think pumpkin nails are so cute, they’re perfect for halloween and the fall season! These will get you in the spirit of Halloween and ready for Fall season
How You Can Do It:
- Paint your nails a pale orange color.
- Using a small brush, paint on small pumpkin faces with a black polish or tiny green vines at the base of your nail.
5. Haunted House Nails
This design is a little different from the typical halloween nails you usually see, it’s more subtle if that’s something you’re looking for!
How You Can Do It:
- First, apply a deep navy or black nail polish base.
- Then paint a simple haunted house outlines with white or yellow polish using a nail art brush. For this you’re gonna want to paint vertical and horizontal stripes until you get something that resembles a house
- Add some stars for some extra magic.
6. Bewitched Vibes
Being a witch is one of the most popular costumes during Halloween, so of course I had to include it: deep greens and purples make a perfect color combo, add glitter to give that extra bit of magic to your nails.
How You Can Do It:
- Paint your nails with a dark green or purple color.
- Apply a glitter top coat.
- Use a thin nail brush to create stripes in form of a witch hat, crescent moons, and a witch broom. Make sure the color you pick contrasts with the green or purple.
7. Bloody Drip Nails
If you’re like me and love the horror side of Halloween, these blood drip nails are a great pick and they’re SO easy to create! These are also great if you want to add a little drama to your look.
How to Do It:
- Start off with a white or nude base color.
- Create the dripping on the tips using red polish. (You can use a thin nail brush for this or you can just dot red nail polish using a toothpick or dotting tool and then painting downward lines for the “dripping” effect.
- Seal it with a top coat for a nice shine.
8. Candy Corn Nails
Candy corn is a classic and yummy Halloween treat, but have you thought about adding them to your nails?
How You Can Do It:
- Start with a white coat for your base
- Paint three stripes on your nail using yellow, orange, and white nail polish
- Create clean lines using tape, you could do the stripes freehand, or use a sponge to blend all 3 colors (that’s my favorite way to do it).
- Finish off with a glossy top coat.
9. Bats Nails
Bats are a Halloween decor staple! This design is quick yet eye catching, so it’s perfect for those of you who only have a minute or two to devote to nail art!!
How to Achieve It:
- Paint your nails with a deep purple or black polish.
- Create bat silhouettes with silver or black polish (the contrast in colors makes them pop)
- Add tiny stars around for an extra touch or apply a glittery top coat!
10. Haunted Forest Nails
Add some fun mystery to your nails with a haunted forest nail art, perfect for those who love nature inspired art!
How You Can Do It:
- Paint a gradient background using dark blue and purple polish (you can use a makeup sponge to blend both colors).
- With a fine brush, paint the tree silhouettes using black polish.

12. Frankenstein Monster Nails
Frankenstein is the original halloween monster so it’s only fitting I include Frankenstein-themed nails to my Halloween Nail Designs! This nail art is super fun and quirky
How You Can Do It:
- Paint a bright green base.
- Paint on Frankenstein’s black hair and stitching with a fine brush (using black nail polish)
- Add white dots for the eyes to bring your nails to life!
13. Crystal Ball Nails
If you are feeling magical, crystal ball nails are a cute option!
How You Can Do It:
- Start off with a glitter polish base.
- Using white polish, dot the center of your nail with a dotting tool or toothpick for the crystal ball.
- With a thin nail brush, add stars and moon designs around it.
- Finish with a glossy top coat.
14. Mummy Wrap Nails
Mummies remind me so much of Universal Halloween Horror Nights, and this design is spooky and cute!
How You Can Do It:
- Paint your nails a soft beige or tan color.
- Paint wrap-like stripes all over the nail with white polish.
- Use black polish to paint dots for eyes peeking out of the wraps! (spooky)
15. Fall Leaves Nails
If you want something a bit more low-key that will do you good from Halloween into Thanksgiving, fall leaves nail design is perfect.
How You Can Do It:
- Paint your base with a warm color like a deep red maroon or mustard yellow.

- Finish off with a glossy top coat for shine.
